Wearable Telemetry for Non-Clinical Research
Improve animal welfare and the scientific precision of monitoring and collecting physiological data from laboratory animals through a wearable telemetry jacket.
Etisense is a French biomedical engineering company focused on developing innovative solutions for physiological monitoring. From the beginning, the journey started with a clear vision: collecting physiological signals in preclinical research should be non-invasive, easy to implement, and aligned with both scientific standards and ethical expectations.
We developped DECRO, our flagship solution, an external telemetry solution specifically designed to meet the challenges of in vivo studies. This wearable telemetric jacket enables continuous monitoring of in conscious, unrestrained animals, providing fast, reliable, and consistent physiological data to support various applications.
Monitored Physiological Parameters
Cardiac Activity (ECG)
DECRO enables high-quality electrocardiogram (ECG) recording directly from the animal’s skin – no implant surgery required. This allows for accurate heart rate monitoring as well as the analysis of ECG waves and intervals.
Respiratory Endpoints
In addition, the solution includes embedded inductive plethysmography sensors, which precisely measure respiratory parameters. This enables a detailed evaluation of pulmonary function, including respiratory rate and tidal volume.
Activity Index
Thanks to its built-in triaxial accelerometer, DECRO quantifies the intensity of spontaneous movement and activity levels. This provides valuable insights into animal behavior and overall energy expenditure.

Who We Are
Founded in Lyon in 2018, Etisense emerged as a spin-off from academic research at the TIMC Lab, Grenoble Alpes University. Since then, our mission is to support preclinical researchers with intuitive and ethical solutions that make physiological monitoring easier, more accurate, and better aligned with animal welfare principles.
Behind every component of our solutions is a passionate team, driven by innovation and ambition, dedicated to delivering simple yet powerful tools for in vivo research.
What We Offer
We develop and manufacture non-invasive monitoring systems for preclinical research. The solution, DECRO, captures accurate ECG, respiratory, and activity data from freely moving animals — without surgery or restraint. Adaptable to various species, from rats to pigs, DECRO supports studies in toxicology, safety pharmacology, disease model, education, and veterinary applications.
What We Stand For
At Etisense, we’re committed to responsible science. Guided by the 3Rs — Replace, Reduce, Refine — we promote animal welfare while delivering high-quality data. All our products are designed and made in France, blending technical excellence with ethical values. As members of EARA and GIRCOR, and as signatories of the Transparency Charter, we stand for open, compassionate research.
